Trey Thorpe

We are proud to award Trey Thorpe a scholarship to pursue his passion and dedication as an alpine racer.  Trey  was born in Aspen, Colorado and is a 4th generation Aspen local.  He follows his father and grandfather's footsteps as a 3rd generation alpine ski racer in Aspen.  Trey started skiing on Panda Peak at the Buttermilk ski area when he was 2 years old.  He started racing with the Aspen Valley Ski Club when he was 10 years old.  Trey has an incredible passion for being on the ski hill, whether he is racing or just free skiing.

As a U16, Trey finished in the top 15 in Downhill and Slalom at the USSA Rocky/Central Championships this year.  His goal is to continue to race throughout high school and possibly in college.  Other interests include baseball, biking, and spending time with friends and family.  On his 2016 USSA Jr. Championship racer biography form, when asked where he sees himself in 10 years, he stated "still skiing, whether it is racing or not, I always want to be skiing".
